GOAL has four county-wide gatherings throughout the course of our annual cycle. These gatherings are each important steps in our process of building and utilizing people power to hold public officials accountable for systemic change.
Community Problems Assembly
The Community Problems Assembly is culmination of our fall listening process where our network members gather together to hear the report from our house meetings, elect our officers for the year, and make decisions on the issues GOAL will address in the coming year.
Rally
The Justice Ministry Rally caps off our research process and is held in preparation for our annual Nehemiah Action. At the Rally, our Network Members come together to hear what solutions will be brought to our public officials and which public officials will be attending the Nehemiah Action.
Nehemiah Action
The Nehemiah Action is GOAL’s most important annual gathering. At the Nehemiah Action, all of our congregations come together, with public officials in attendance, to ask for clear, concrete commitments to specific solutions to community problems. In 2023 we had over 1500 people in attendance, and expect over 2000 this coming year.
Celebration
At the celebration, we lift up the successes of the past year and kick off our annual investment drive.
